Celebrating 10 Years of BEST

Today marks a special milestone for the BEST community!
BEST (Bedfordshire Schools Trust) was formed on May 5th 2016, and we are delighted to be marking our 10th anniversary with a series of celebratory events this term, bringing together BEST staff, students, families and governors from across our Trust.
Since forming a decade ago, we have grown significantly into one of the largest trusts in the county. We are proud to educate 8,000 children across the area, from nursery age to advanced level study, supported by over 1,000 members of staff.
Leaders across the Trust are marking the occasion with a Mission, Vision and Values Day. It is an opportunity for leaders to reflect and celebrate the successes of BEST, whilst looking ahead and shaping the future.
At the heart of everything we do is our shared aim: to grow the BEST in everyone. Our work is driven by our core values:
- Always put children first
- Collaborate to support and compete to challenge
- Provide community-based provision
- Have the courage to be compassionate
In always putting children first, our reference point question is "how do our activities improve outcomes for pupils and enable them to go on and succeed in life?
(Dr Alan Lee, CEO)
The formative years of BEST have been a real success story. However, we are determined that the next 10 years will be even better. We were heartened by the large number of responses in our Big Community Listen, which provided an opportunity for staff, students and parents to share their views and will help us shape the future of BEST.
We look forward to sharing the results of the Big Community Listen in our upcoming special anniversary edition of The Best of BEST
We would like to thank everyone in our community for their shared commitment and ongoing support.
We are looking forward to an exciting future!
