I work with school leaders to provide support and personalised development routes for their staff as well as mentoring and coaching to support teaching and learning. With significant experience across school and trust leadership roles, alongside completing qualifications such as the NPQLTD, NPQH and MBA in Strategic Leadership, I am committed to supporting the development of staff in order to strive for continual improvement. Alongside my role I serve as a governor in multiple schools, a trustee for a local MAT and advising on several national professional development boards including the DfE and Best Practice Network.

Alan Stupple, Director of Maths

I bring expertise across multiple phases alongside a strong passion for leadership and professional development. I am an accredited PD lead with the NCETM and hold a NPQH qualification, and through my experience as Chair of Governors at a local school I have developed a strong whole-school perspective on improvement. I support maths leadership across the local area by facilitating primary and secondary subject leadership groups for BEST, Bedford Borough, and the Enigma Maths Hub. Within our schools, I work closely with leaders to help them bring their departmental vision to life, while also developing teachers through coaching, mentoring, and team teaching.  I support with designing curriculum, assessment and individual lesson planning whilst ensuring student analysis and feedback systems within schools are developed.  This work ensures that every student within BEST has access to a consistently high-quality maths education, regardless of school or phase.

I oversee and monitor the quality of science education across our entire trust, ensuring a joined-up, engaging curriculum that spans from early years nurseries all the way through to Key Stage 5. Drawing on my extensive experience in school leadership and having completed my NPQH, I work closely with executive teams and heads of school to drive whole-school improvement, further raise teaching standards, and promote a culture of academic excellence. My strategic perspective is further sharpened by my active involvement in school governance; I sit on multiple governing bodies and currently chair one board, giving me deep insight into the structural and operational frameworks that make schools thrive.
