Sixth Form Success for BEST

Sixth Form students and staff at Samuel Whitbread Academy and Etonbury Academy are proudly celebrating their achievements today after receiving a strong set of A-Level and BTEC results!

The Etonbury Academy community is celebrating the success of their second cohort of Sixth Form students. Joanne Young, Etonbury Principal, said:

“To our Class of 2026 – congratulations! You have made us incredibly proud, not simply because of the grades on your results sheets, but because of the young people you have become. We hope you leave Etonbury with confidence, ambition and the belief that you can achieve great things.

Whatever path you choose, we will always be proud to have been part of your journey. Enjoy today, celebrate your success and look forward to everything that comes next. You deserve it.

I would also like to pay tribute to our wonderful staff. Their commitment to our students, both academically and personally, has been exceptional. They have supported, challenged and encouraged our young people every step of the way.”

Samuel Whitbread Academy Sixth Form welcomed students back to school this morning to collect their results. The Principal and Sixth Form team were thrilled with the outcomes, which this year included a record score for progress.

Principal Nick Martin said: “I am extremely proud of this year group. They have been an absolutely amazing group of students. As well as gaining some fantastic grades at both A Level and BTEC, they achieved our best-ever score for progress. They have also been great role models for the younger students by taking part in numerous events, school productions, organising and leading conferences on issues such as global warming, as well as reaching national finals in netball and winning the U18 national football final.

Joining students, families and staff on these days is truly special. It is a privilege to be able to congratulate students on all their hard work, and thank families and staff for all the support given. Enjoy your well-deserved celebrations – I wish you every success and happiness in the future. (Dr Alan Lee, CEO, BEST)

Alison Wilshaw was delighted to share in the joy of students today at both Etonbury and Samuel Whitbread Academies; “I extend my thanks to staff at both settings – they must also be so pleased.
