Confirmation of CBC investment into Langford Village Academy

The funding from Central Bedfordshire Council will ensure a permanent increase of the Pupil Admission Number from 30 to 45 places per year.

For a number of years, BEST has been working closely with the school and the local community to address the growing demand for places in Langford. Over the past five years, Trustees have agreed to a temporary annual increase from 30 to 45 places to support local families, while continuing to press for a long-term solution. Central Bedfordshire Council is statutorily responsible for ensuring there are sufficient school places, and this investment is a positive step forward in meeting that need.

Principal, Debbie Randall, warmly welcomed the news:

I am delighted that Langford Village Academy has received confirmation that the increase of the Academy’s Pupil Admission Number, from 30 to 45 places per year, will now be a permanent arrangement. This exciting development ensures we can improve our primary provision and continue providing a high-quality education for local children.

This funding will now enable Langford Village Academy to develop the facilities required to fully deliver a high-quality primary curriculum that children in Langford deserve. Discussions remain at an early stage following this financial commitment, and we will continue to work closely with the Langford Village Academy leadership team, its Governors, and Central Bedfordshire Council to develop the project.

BEST remains committed to supporting the school and the wider village community, ensuring that local children can access a high-quality education close to home.
